Matt Kenseth will be starting in the first position Sunday after winning the pole today at the qualifying for the STP 400 Sprint Cup race at Kansas Speedway.
Kenseth took the pole position with a speed of 191.8 mph and a lap time of 28.145. His Home Depot car is owned by Joe Gibbs.
Taking second was Carl Edwards with 191.7 mph.
Rounding out the top 10 were Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Sam Hornish Jr., Kyle Busch, Aric Almirola, Martin Truex Jr., Mark Martin, Ryan Newman and Clint Bowyer.
Kenseth drives the No. 20 Toyota; Edwards, No. 99 Ford; Stenhouse, No. 17 Ford; Hornish, No. 12 Ford; Busch, No. 18 Toyota; Almirola, No. 43 Ford; Truex, No. 56 Toyota; Martin, No. 55 Toyota; Newman, No. 39 Chevrolet; and Bowyer, No. 15 Toyota.
Chevrolet had only one in the top 10, but had seven cars in the second 20.
