The Kansas City T-Bones announce that the Arizona Diamondbacks have purchased the contract of right-handed pitcher Dustin Loggins.
Loggins, 23, went 7-6 with one save and a 4.12 ERA for the T-Bones in 2013. In 30 games (104 2/3 innings), he struck out 101 and walked 38. Loggins struck out a career-high 12 batters in a 4-2 loss to Fargo on Aug. 9. Loggins, who began the season in the bullpen before joining the rotation at the end of June, signed with the T-Bones in July 2012, two months after finishing his career with College of the Ozarks.
“I’m extremely excited for Dustin to get this opportunity,” said T-Bones manager Kenny Hook. “He worked hard during the past two seasons, and made a smooth transition from the bullpen to becoming one of our most dominant and dependable starters. I look forward to following Dustin’s progress with the Diamondbacks organization.”
Loggins is the 22nd T-Bones player whose contract has been sold to a Major League organization.
“It’s always a proud moment for the T-Bones when one of our players is signed by a Major League organization, and today with Dustin Loggins is no exception,” said T-Bones vice president and general manager Chris Browne. “We know everyone from our front office, to our baseball staff, to his teammates, to all of our fans congratulates Dustin today.”
