Kansas City Kansas Community College men’s basketball coach Jon Oler has been suspended without pay for the Blue Devils’ next six games.
College officials said a thorough and extensive external investigation revealed that Oler had facilitated an improper payment on behalf of a student athlete. Oler was suspended for violation of College and National Junior College Athletic Association by-laws
Oler will not be allowed to have any contact with members of the Blue Devil basketball team until after Feb. 22. Assistant coach Bill Sloan, who has served as Oler’s assistant for the last 10 years, will assume the head coaching duties during Oler’s absence.
