A workshop on surviving loss will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18, at Oak Ridge Missionary Baptist Church, 9301 Parallel Parkway, Kansas City Kan.
The workshop will be led by Shawn McDaniel, a licensed clinical psychologist who works at Truman Behavioral Health Inpatient Hospital.
At the workshop, participants will learn about the normal process of grief, and the wide range of experiences individuals and families might encounter. The myths, facts and methods of helping oneself and others through the grief process will be discussed.

Continuing education credits are available. The workshop is for care providers, persons with depression and related conditions, their families and significant others. The public and health care professionals are welcome.
