Free tax assistance may be available for qualifying families in the Kansas City area.
The free tax assistance is offered through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program from Jan. 28 through April 15 at two Kansas City, Kan., locations.
The tax assistance program is offered through United Way of Greater Kansas City and KC Cash Coalition.
There are two VITA locations in Kansas City, Kan.:
- Catholic Charities – El Centro, 2220 Central Ave., Kansas City, Kan., open from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursdays; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays from Jan. 31 to April 13. Spanish language assistance is available.
- Kansas City Kansas Community College, 7250 State Ave., Flint Building, Room 3632, Kansas City, Kan., open from 5 to 8 p.m. Mondays in January and February; 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays from Jan. 28 through April 13. Closed March 20 through 23. Spanish language assistance is available.
