For the 12th year in a row, Treads and Threads is poised to set records.
Treads and Threads is the creative black tie gala on the Kansas Speedway infield which benefits The University of Kansas Hospital, and its clinical cancer program within The University of Kansas Cancer Center. The event is at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6.
Proceeds from this year’s event will go toward expanding the personalized medicine program for cancer patients.
This year’s event will feature food from 23 of area restaurants, caterers and dessert specialists, many of whom have been with the event from the start.
One of those restaurants had to overcome tragedy to keep its streak intact. But, it was important to the people of JJ’s restaurant to be at Treads and Threads this year, after a deadly explosion in February.
Treads and Threads is regularly voted as one of the top events in the metropolitan area. This year, the presenting sponsor is J.E.Dunn Construction. Terry and Peggy Dunn are event chairs and the Sunderland family serve as honorary chairs. This year’s headliners are country duo Big and Rich.
