About 2,300 young and old Scouts from the Greater Kansas City area will participate in a Centennial Camporee March 8-9 at the Theodore Naish Scout Reservation, Bonner Springs.
The camporee celebrates the relationship of the Scouts and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for the past 100 years.
Participants will commemorate the role of Scouting in improving lives. They will participate in activities, outdoor events, educational displays and evening firesides with keynote speakers.
The LDS Church affiliated with Scouting in 1913 as its first institutional sponsor in the United States.
