Project FeederWatch planned
The Schlagle Environmental Library at Wyandotte County Lake Park, 91st and Leavenworth Road, is participating in a countywide Project FeederWatch.
The program is from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, and people may come and go as they please. Those attending may count birds at the many feeders.
Binoculars and bird guides will be available.
Church plans ham and bean dinner
Grinter Chapel United Methodist Church, 7819 Swartz Road, Kansas City, Kan., will have a ham and bean - vegetable soup dinner from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 23. The menu includes ham and beans, vegetable soup, dessert and drink. Donation of $7 for adults and $4 for children 12 and younger is requested.
Free salsa lessons offered
Free salsa lessons are offered from 3 to 4 p.m. each Saturday in March at Wyandotte United Methodist Church, 7901 Oakland Ave.
Family film planned at library
Families are invited to attend a free showing of the movie, "Wreck-it Ralph," from 2 to 4 p.m. March 23 at the South Branch Library, Meeting Room A, 3104 Strong Ave., Kansas City, Kan. The story is about a video game villain who wants to be a hero and tries to fulfill his dream, bringing havoc to the arcade where he lives.
