Two Dr. Seuss birthday parties today
A Dr. Seuss birthday party is planned from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 2 at the Turner Community Library, 831 S. 55th, Kansas City, Kan. Stories, games, crafts and a visit from the Cat in the Hat are scheduled. There will be a costume contest and participants may come dressed as their favorite Dr. Seuss character.
A second Dr. Seuss party will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. March 2 at the West Wyandotte Library auditorium, 1737 N. 82nd. That party will include reading Dr. Seuss stories, completing a craft, and snacking on Seussical treats while watching the movie, “The Cat in the Hat,” rated PG. All ages may attend, but children under 9 must be accompanied by an adult.
Marble Crazy Days at Moon Marble
Watch marbles and glassware handcrafted by several artists March 1-2 at the Marble Crazy Days at the Moon Marble Co., 600 E. Front St., Bonner Springs.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 2.
The event is free and open to the public.

Corned beef and cabbage dinner today
The St. Mary-St. Anthony Church Men's Club will hold its annual St. Patrick's Day Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner in the Bishop Forst Hall, 615 N. 7th St., Kansas City, Kan., after the 4 p.m. Mass on Saturday, March 2.
