Fourth annual Car Show and Block Party to be July 20
The Fourth Annual Car Show and Block Party at Bonner Springs Church of the Nazarene will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 20. Car and vendor check-in is from 8 to 10 a.m. The event is at 742 N. Nettleton Ave., Bonner Springs. The event includes inflatables for kids, craft vendors and food vendors, and People’s Choice Awards for Classic Car, Truck, Motorcycle and Race Car.
Democrats to meet
The Wyandotte County Third Saturday Democratic Breakfast is scheduled Saturday, July 20, at Johnny Carino’s Italian Restaurant, 1706 Village West Parkway, Kansas City, Kan.
The guest speaker will be Jason Perkey, executive director, Kansas Democratic Party.
The buffet is available at 8:15 a.m. and the forum begins at 9:15 a.m.
The cost of the breakfast buffet is $10; or $7 for students and those on limited income. The meeting is open to Democrats. Reservations are requested, but not required, by July 19 to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Rummage sale planned at Stony Point Church
Stony Point Christian Church, 149 S. 78th St., is planning a rummage sale July 20 in the Cole Activity Center. The sale will be from 9 a.m. to noon July 20.
Breakfast club to meet at White Church
The Breakfast Club will meet at 8:30 a.m. July 20 at White Church Christian Church, 2200 N. 85th St. The topic will be, “Healthy Eating Done Right.”
Nature print T-shirt craft planned
A craft program for all ages is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon July 20 at the Mr. and Mrs. F.L. Schlagle Library at Wyandotte County Lake Park. Those participating will decorate T-shirts with nature stamps and stencils. It will be a drop-in event. Participants should bring their own T-shirts.
Salsa lessons planned
At Wyandotte United Methodist Church, 7901 Oakland Ave., free salsa lessons are held from 3 to 4 p.m. each Saturday, and new participants are welcome.
Artists exhibit works at Strawberry Hill Museum
Art works by Mike Savage and Geri Stewart are on exhibit now through July 28 at the Strawberry Hill Museum and Cultural Center, 720 N. 4th St., Kansas City, Kan. Spaghetti dinner planned at Grinter Chapel
Grinter Chapel United Methodist Church, 78th and Swartz Road, will sponsor a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 20. Everyone is invited.
Civitan fundraiser planned July 20
Hamburger Mary’s Bar and Grille will be the site of the Wyandotte County Civitan fundraiser from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 101 Southwest Blvd., Kansas City, Mo. Funds are being raised for the developmentally disabled and other charitable needs.
