Registration is currently being accepted for two upcoming health classes, "Dining with Diabetes," and "Kansans Optimizing Health Program."
"Dining with Diabetes, Building a Healthy Plate," is a two-hour workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. on Mondays for four weeks, starting Oct. 14. The class is held at the Basehor United Methodist Church, 18660 158th St., Basehor, Kan.
Contact K-State Research and Extension, Leavenworth County, 913-364-5700 or Wyandotte County, 913-299-9300 to register. Samples will be served (a protein choice and a carbohydrate choice) at each session, so plan daily meals and snacks accordingly.
"Kansans Optimizing Health Program," will be a 2.5-hour workshop from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesdays for six weeks, beginning Oct. 9, at Keeler Women's Center, 2220 Central, Kansas City, Kan. Contact K-State Research and Extension at 913-299-9300 to register.
