On a normal day at the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City, veterinarians and technicians provide services for an average of 30 dogs and cats.
On May 15, Banfield Pet Hospital vets worked with the Humane Society’s vets and techs to provide free well pet exams and immunizations for low-income and senior citizen pet owners to a total of 219 dogs and cats in just one day.
Banfield Pet Hospitals held its regional conference in Kansas City and partnered with the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City for a service project day. 28 volunteers participated in the service day from Banfield and PetSmart, 12 of which were vets from 11 different states.
Other volunteers worked on improvement projects at the shelter and organized the storage shed as the new Resource Donation Sharing Program that will provide excess donations of food and supplies to partner rescue groups. Banfield Charitable Trust covered all the expenses for pet exams, immunizations, and all improvement supplies.
The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City is located at 5445 Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, Kan.
