Project Unity, a free seminar for youth and their families on the value of education, will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1, at Johnson County Community College.
The seminar, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., is for youth ages 13 to 21 and is sponsored by the Kansas African American Affairs Commission, and its 3rd District Steering Committee.
Registration for the event is being filled on first-come, first-served basis. Online registration is at http://www.kaaac.ks.gov.
Information will be presented about career preparation, educational and vocational options, and a panel will discuss “Why Education Matters.” Community service awards will be presented.
The event will be in the Cap Fed Room of the Regnier Center at Johnson County Community College, 12345 College Blvd., Overland Park, Kan.
