Judy Slevinske, longtime resident of Kansas City, Kan., died peacefully Oct. 29 at the age of 92 in Encinitas, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, B.A. (Putt) Slevinske, daughter, Jo Ann Ramsey Bradbury and son, Dennis Ramsey.
She is survived by her son, Rick Ramsey of Salida, Colo., her daughter, Karen Slevinske of Encinitas, Calif., and her brother, John Kanacsky of St. Joseph, Mo. She is also survived by three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was a longstanding member of the Little Flower Circle at Christ the King Church, and was active in Providence Medical Center Service League, The Ladies of Charity and Kansas City, Kan., Friends of the Arts.
She retired from her business, Judy’s Draperies in 1995. The last three years of her life she fulfilled her charitable, creative nature by baking sweets for family and friends, as well as two halfway houses for men.
She will be remembered for her sunny disposition, her ever-present smile and her unconditional love for all.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 3024 N. 53rd, Kansas City, Kan. A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at the church. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 38th and State Avenue, Kansas City, Kan.
