Delaware Highlands’ seniors celebrated Mardi Gras in true New Orleans style on Tuesday, Feb. 12.
The party was complete with beads, masks and king cakes, along with music and dancing with Women of the Drum, according to Bobbie Scott, activities coordinator.
Women of the Drum performed for the senior citizens with rhythmic chanting, dancing and drumming evocative music from Brazil and Haiti.
Fran Jones, resident of Delaware Highlands stated, “Top this New Orleans if you can because life may have added lines to my face but my spirit still runs wild. After all life is all about a state of mind.”
