Every year an entertainment festival happens. The festival I am referring to is the Fringe Festival. This is a festival of entertainment, everything from dance to theater and even burlesque. This festival is held at various locations in the Kansas City, Mo., area. The festival has well over 130 performances that go on for eight days.
One of the performers in this year's festival is Lynn King. She was born in Wyandotte County and went to school with State Sen. David Hailey. Currently King lives in the Strawberry Hill area in Kansas City, Kan. During the school year she teaches drama and at night she is an actress.
She has appeared in various productions throughout the Greater Kansas City metropolitan area. Her performances are numerous, appearing with the Metropolitan Theatrical Ensemble and with the Melting Pot Theatrical company just to name a few. She is known by many as one of those most sought after actresses in the Kansas City area. Her acting ability is superior. The role she plays is very wide ranging. She has a unique ability to portray the character in a very believable way. She truly shines and everything she does making her a true star.
This star from Wyandotte County is currently appearing in the Fringe performance called “Wiccans in the Hood.” Her role is a black woman who wants to protect her cultural heritage at a Wicca blessing ceremony unveiled in a black cemetery.
Every year about this time the Fringe Festival attracts visitors from all over the continental United States, making the Kansas City Fringe Festival one of the best ever. Other residents as well as King from Wyandotte County help make this year's Fringe Festival huge success.
