Led by 11 gold medalists, students in the Technical Education Center at Kansas City Kansas Community College captured 34 medals in the 2013 Skills USA competition.
Silver medals were claimed by 18 TEC students with five others receiving bronze.
Three TEC teams claimed two gold medals. Bridgette Edgar and Zermanda Greiner in Nail Care Teams (Post-Secondary) and Stephanie Villalobos and Harlie Boyer in Nail Care Teams (High School) each won two gold as did Brianna Ramos and Maiva Williams in Esthetics Team (Post-Secondary).
Individual gold medalists were Jeff Leihy, Restaurant Service; Cory McDowell, Major Appliance and Refrigeration; Alicia Morrison, Cosmetology; and Kassandra Guenther, Commercial Baking, all post-secondary; and Kendra Womack, High School Cosmetology.
