High School Musical
To a nearly sellout crowd the Bishop Ward Drama Club presented “High School Musical” on March 7.
The performance was totally electrifying for the whole audience. This is mainly due to the superior leadership of the director, Kelly Lipovitz, head of the drama club, Leayn Losh, music director who has directed many musicals in the Kansas City area, Sean DeMaree, assistant music director, and Michael Joy, a choreographer who also works with Alvin Ailey.
What makes “High School Musical” unique is that the kids didn’t have enough time to practice due to the snow storms. The performers acted, sang and danced into everyone’s hearts making it a truly remarkable experience. The performance was fantastic. Everything from makeup to the sound including the stage setup was also done very well.
These kids brought the house to a standing ovation. Hats off to the staff and members of the drama club for a job well done. The rest of the performances start at 7 p.m. Friday, March 8, and Saturday , March 9 at the high school, 708 N. 18th, Kansas City, Kan. Get there early because they might be sold out.
