Join animal and art lovers from across Kansas City for the 16th Annual Art Unleashed from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at Hale Arena, 1701 American Royal Court, Kansas City, Mo.
Art Unleashed is a live and silent auction with original and limited edition pet themed artwork pieces. The host of the auction is Loren Halifax of Fox 4’s Morning Show.
All proceeds benefit the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City’s no-kill shelter at 5445 Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, Kan.
Submitting local artists include Joni Johnson-Godsey, Jillinda Walker, Jack Pullan and hundreds of others.
Being introduced to Art Unleashed this year is Qtego, a mobile text bidding software. This allows guests of the event to bid on auction pieces with their mobile phone with texting capabilities. The bidding software also updates guests throughout the night if they are being out-bid on a piece, if they’ve won, or if there are any art pieces left without bids. For those without texting capable phones, Qtego will have employees with iPads available to place bids for guests.
Available ticket options include $35 per person for general admission, $50 for Patron Party tickets, or $500 per reserved table. Visit ArtUnleashedKC.org for more details. All guests will enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres from local restaurants including P.F . Chang’s, Mario’s Deli, and Krispy Kreme. Cash bar only is available.
The silent auction closes at 8:30 p.m. The live auction begins approximately 8:40 p.m. To purchase tickets, donate artwork, or for more information visit ArtUnleashedKC.org or call 913-596-1000, Ext. 115.
