The 2013 Greater Kansas City Walk MS will be held on April 27 at Sporting Park in Kansas City, Kan.
This will be the first year the National MS Society has teamed up with Sporting Park to hold Walk MS. The Greater Kansas City Walk will also mark the first year for combining what was previously two separate Walks in Kansas City and Johnson County.
“We’re really excited to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Walk MS with the announcement of our partnership with Sporting Park,” Allison Ihm, senior manager Walk MS said, “Walk MS is more than a fundraising event; it is a celebration of our community and our mission. We are ecstatic for the opportunity to raise awareness about MS and make more connections in our community through one large event in Kansas City.”
The National MS Society estimates that over 2,500 individuals will rally at Sporting Park for Walk MS 2013.
The Greater Kansas City Walk will include one, three and six mile route options, complete with rest stops, snacks and encouragement from volunteers. The routes are fully accessible so that people of all abilities can participate.
