The Coalition for Independence, with offices at 4911 State Ave., has announced the appointment of five new board members.
A spokesman said the staff and current board are happy to welcome new board members from the surrounding Kansas City area. Coalition for Independence is working hard to extend its reach and include individuals from the entire metro area, according to the spokesman. Including new members from throughout the Kansas City area, The Coalition for Independence hopes to gain additional awareness and support positive changes for current consumers, the spokesman said.
New members include:
Angela Byers is a Prairie Village credit union branch manager.
Ryan Jones is an employee services coordinator from Job One.
Lamonica Upton is with the Wyandotte-Leavenworth Area on Agency as an information and assistance specialist.
Marshall Leffler is a multiline insurance agent.
Wilma Christensen is a retired nurse from CFI and continues to support its mission through various agency activities.
The new members join a five-member board that oversees Coalition for Independence finances, company policies and strategies as well as strategic planning for further development and expansion.
