Participants will enjoy a light dinner and receive an original bowl or cup by attending Bowls for Betterment from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday, March 14, to benefit ArtMakers’ Place, the studio art therapy program of Wyandot Center, Wyandotte County’s community mental health center serving adults.
Proceeds will also benefit Accessible Arts, which is collaborating with ArtMakers’ Place to hold this event. Accessible Arts strives to increase expression, exploration and engagement in the arts for people of all abilities.
The event will take place in the dining room at Wyandot Center’s mid-county location, 1301 N. 47th St., Kansas City, Kan. With the purchase of dinner, guests will choose from pottery created and donated by local ceramicists. For $30, attendees will receive a handmade bowl, cup and dinner; for $25, a handmade bowl and dinner. There will also be a drawing and a silent auction. Both Wyandot Center and Accessible Arts are nonprofit organizations.
The event is open to the community. For more information or to make a reservation, contact Kate Horvat, ArtMakers’ Place coordinator, at 913-621-7025 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
