Seven-time Emmy Award-winning actor Ed Asner returns to his high school in Kansas City, Kan., on June 29 to present a benefit performance for the United Way of Wyandotte County.
Asner will perform his one-man show, “FDR,” on Saturday, June 29, at Wyandotte High School, 2501 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, Kan.
The 95-minute show will begin at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $15 each and will benefit the United Way.
This event is sponsored by General Motors Fairfax Plant and the Kansas City Chevy Dealers.
Asner, a 1947 graduate of Wyandotte High School, is best known for his role as Lou Grant on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show.”
Asner served as the 2012 United Way of Wyandotte County honorary campaign chair and is using this performance to raise funds and awareness for the organization.

“FDR” explores the life of one of America's best-loved presidents and the events that shaped a nation. This powerful play follows the legendary president as he reflects on his years in office, from inauguration to the trials of World War II.
