Local authors discussed their books at a meeting at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at the South Branch Library, 3104 Strong Ave., Kansas City, Kan. From left to right were Bill Ouseley, retired FBI agent and author of "Mobsters in Our Midst -- The Kansas City Crime Family," Darryl Levings, Kansas City Star editor and author of "Saddle the Pale Horse," Andrea Warren, author of youth books including "Pioneer Girl" and "Orphan Train Rider," and Joe Vaughan, author of a pictorial history, "Kansas City, Kansas." The authors' program was sponsored by the Kansas City Press Club and the South Branch Library.
