George Charles Taylor, 76, lost his battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) and died on Jan. 9, 2014, at The University of Kansas Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, at Mary Butler Meyers Funeral Home, 6300 Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, Kan. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13, at Mary Butler Meyers Funeral Home, 6300 Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, Kan.
Taylor, a U.S. Marine veteran, was born in Jefferson City, Mo., to the late David Roger and Nora Rebecca Taylor and was preceded in death by two sisters, Nora Mae Wood and Mary Belle Rafter.
He leaves his wife of 51 years, Wanda Taylor of Bolivar, Mo.; three children, Angela (Ron) Kaminski of the Piper area of Kansas City, Kan., Todd (Becky) Taylor of Kansas City, Kan., and Andrea Sue Taylor of Edwardsville, Kan.; five granddaughters, Allison Kaminski (Josh) Overby, Ashley Kaminski, Skyler Taylor, Shelbey Taylor and Claire Taylor; one brother David (Betty) Taylor of Tonganoxie, Kan., and one sister Becky (Stan) Bove’ of Raymore, Mo., and many nieces and nephews.
