The New Year is a customary milestone for making resolutions and starting new projects and behaviors. We are pleased to announce several new changes for our company in the weeks and months ahead.
Our new website launched recently at www.WyandotteDailyNews.com. Users will find a new format that allows reader comments, an events calendar, and integrated mapping services for most features.
We apologize to those who could not access our website during our transition period. There is still some work to be done. We welcome comments and suggestions as we activate several new features to improve our service to the Wyandotte County community.
For local businesses and professionals, the new site offers an interactive Directory and the opportunity for advertising and promotional messages.
Over the next two weeks, we will also activate online payment capability and expand reader ability to offer personal opinions on current issues and topics. A consumer rating system will allow customers to comment on businesses and restaurants they patronize.
Our weekly print edition continues to expand, with increased subscribers and a full-color edition on high quality paper. We continue to have delayed or missing delivery issues with the postal service. We mail from the Civic Center Post Office early Thursday afternoon, the entry date we are required to file with the post office. This deadline was missed only once in the past three years when we had printing difficulties. Local subscribers should receive their paper in their regular Friday delivery. Please let us know if you are receiving your paper at a later time.
Looking ahead, our new technology will allow us to produce a daily email newsletter and expand our mobile availability on tablets and smart phones.
Please continue to share your thoughts and suggestions on how we can better serve you. We are committed to our TrulyLocal strategy to promote Wyandotte County as a great place to live, work, shop and play.
