Letter to the editor: Sigwing

Dear editor,
How does time manage to fly by us? At the moment we experience life, it seems to stand still, move in slow motion, drag on and on. And yet, when we finally look back and contemplate the memories, we have actually experienced a time tornado – that’s where I am now – the reflective phase wondering where this swirling time has gone.
Larry and I have lived in Wyandotte County over 40 years. We’ve raised two daughters here and now enjoy grandchildren here. We both worked in the county and have retired in the county. Larry was a small business owner for 28 years, and I taught in USD 203 for 23 years.
One constant has been your newspaper, The Wyandotte Daily News. Yes, we’ve experienced all your changes and experiments with name, size, content; however, let it be known that you have taken a giant metropolitan newspaper and “cut to the quick” with news relevant to our area. News about local people that many of us would never learn about without your coverage. News about upcoming political happenings or those which have already happened, quietly. Thank you for that.
Thank you for your consistent community updates and celebrations. By the way, I really do like/enjoy/love the updated, colorful front page.
Thank you again.
An appreciative regular reader,
Leona Sigwing
