A hazardous weather outlook has been issued for Wyandotte County.

Thunderstorms are moving through the area as of 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, along and ahead of a cold front, according to the National Weather Service.

A few of the storms may be strong to severe, with damaging winds and small hail possible in areas. There is a very low risk in some of the areas for an isolated tornado, but Wyandotte County was not listed under the tornado watch currently.

What’s next? Snow is expected to develop this evening across northeast Kansas and northwest Missouri, the weather service said.

Snow may start to develop by 9 p.m. Tuesday. It will spread northeast tonight through noon Wednesday, the weather service said. Snow accumulation of 1 to 4 inches is possible northwest of a line from the southern Kansas City metro area to Unionville, Mo.

With gusty winds, snow and blowing snow will reduce visibility and make travel hazardous tonight.
