A 14-year-old has died in a shooting at 2:40 p.m. Saturday, March 30, according to a Kansas City, Kan., police spokesman.
Police said they responded to a call in the 1400 block of Armstrong Avenue.
Police said two teenage males were walking in the area when two other males in a black Ford Explorer drove up to them.
After a brief argument, the vehicle circled the block and returned to the area of 14th and Ann, where the vehicle occupants began firing at the teens, striking one of them, police said.
The gunshot victim, 14, was taken to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.
The other teen, a 15-year-old male, was not injured.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending positive identification and family notification, police said.
Anyone with information about the identity of the suspects or location of the black Ford Explorer is asked to call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS. The Police Department's Major Case Unit is handling the investigation.
