A standoff at an apartment building in Edwardsville, Kan., ended with the arrest of a man this morning and the rescue of a girl, according to Edwardsville police.
Police were called around 3 a.m. Tuesday about a disturbance between a male and female at an apartment building in Edwardsville, Detective Roger Golubski said.
Neighbors had heard screaming, and notified the police, he said.
Police responded, but the occupants of the apartment would not open the door to talk to police. Police obtained a search warrant, and the standoff ended around 8:30 a.m. with one adult male being taken into custody, Golubski said.Charges are pending.
The female who was in the apartment was a juvenile, he added.
