After sputtering some sleet and rain earlier today, snowflakes are falling in Wyandotte County.
Temperatures were about 37 degrees at 3:46 p.m. May 2, and Wyandotte County was seeing a wintry mix of snow, sleet and rain starting to turn to completely snow.
The National Weather Service said it was an extremely powerful and rare late-season winter storm would affect the region tonight through Friday.
Snow may continue through late Friday morning or early Friday afternoon, the weather service said.
From one to three inches of snow may accumulate.
The winter weather advisory will be from 1 a.m. Friday to 1 p.m. Friday, according to the weather service.
