The Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Department will receive a federal grant of $214,046 for crime reduction, according to an announcement today.
The grant will pay for compliance officers to monitor and update offender registrations, locate offenders out of compliance and assist with prosecution, according to the announcement from Gov. Sam Brownback’s office.
The grant was part of more than $2.8 million from the federal Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant program. The funds were awarded to agencies throughout the state.
