A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for Wyandotte County until 4 p.m., but a severe thunderstorm warning has been canceled, according to the National Weather Service.
Wyandotte County and surroundig counties are still under the watch.
Winds are picking up in Wyandotte County, but the storm that originally prompted a warning was weakened below the severe thunderstorm limits and no longer poses an immediate threat to residents, according to the weather service.
Gusty winds and heavy rain are still possible with this storm, however, the weather service stated.
A weather service radar map shows much of this storm moving north of Wyandotte County.
After the rain, temperatures dropped to 74 about noon, and the heat advisory today was lifted.
