In the early morning hours on Saturday, cold weather will move into the Kansas City area.
The National Weather Service’s quick forecast shows temperatures of 72 degrees at midnight, falling to 59 degrees by 3 a.m. Saturday.
All this will come with a 70 percent chance of thunderstorms.
Some storms overnight could be severe, with large hail and damaging wins, the weather service warned. The weather service said areas along and west of I-35 will have the greatest chance for severe storms.
Today’s high should be 88 degrees, the weather service says. Temperatures on Saturday will reach of high of only 61 degrees. Temperatures should remain in the 60s through Monday.
