The Salvation Army, Kansas and Western Missouri Division, announced today it is sending an emergency disaster services team to Colorado to assist with relief efforts after days of deadly flash flooding.
Salvation Army Office Lt. Lynn Lopez and volunteer Kay Mollett, both from Emporia, Kan., have left for Denver in a mobile canteen that will be stocked with food and water for meals for survivors and first responders. It will join eight other Salvation Army canteens serving those affected by the flooding.
Those who are interested in helping with the effort may visit www.imsalvationarmy.org or call 1-800-SAL-ARMY and designate "Colorado Floods." They may also text GIVEHOPEIM to 80888 to donate $10 to The Salvation Army.
