A public hearing on U.S. 69 bridges over the Missouri River is scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Riverside Community Center, 4498 N.W. High Drive, Riverside, Mo.
The bridges are known as the Fairfax Bridge and Platte Purchase Bridge.
The public hearing on an environmental assessment for the bridges is being held by the Kansas Department of Transportation, the Missouri Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration.
According to officials, the meeting will:
• Describe the general nature of the proposed project;
• Present the range of alternatives considered including the preferred alternative;
• Obtain comments and input on the project including the preferred alternative;
• Provide an opportunity to review the Environmental Assessment document.
