A search for robbery suspects earlier today came up short, although police dogs were brought in to find their trail.
According to a Kansas City, Kan., police spokesman, several armed robberies took place about 7 a.m. June 6 in the northeast part of Kansas City, Kan.
The investigation led to the area of 13th and New Jersey Avenue, where police located the suspects' vehicle, a blue Buick LeSabre, the spokesman said.
The vehicle was known to have been stolen during one of the robberies, police said.
Weapons believed to have been used in the robberies were found during a search of the adjacent area, police said.
K-9 officers tracked the suspects' direction of travel to two homes in the area. The homes were checked and no suspects were found, the spokesman said.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS, according to the spokesman.
