A motorcyclist was in critical condition following an accident around 11 a.m. July 16 on westbound I-70 near 110th in Wyandotte County.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, traffic was slowing in the area as vehicles approached a construction zone. A motorcyclist came over the hill, saw the traffic going slower, and laid down the 1991 Honda motorcycle, sliding into a car, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital. He is a 72-year-old resident of Kansas City, Mo. He was wearing a helmet, according to the trooper's report.
The driver of the car, a 1989 Oldsmobile, was a 62-year-old Kansas City, Kan., woman who was not injured.
