More than 5,000 people in Wyandotte County are still without power, according to the Board of Public Utilities' power outage map.
At 5:35 p.m., the BPU's outage map online showed 5,808 customers still without power.
According to the chart, 2,154 had been restored recently.
One Kansas City, Kan., resident said her power went out at 4:20 a.m. Tuesday, and has been out for about 13 hours. The heat has gone off with the power out and the residents are bundling up. Temperatures outdoors at 5 p.m. were 35 degrees, with a 25-degree wind chill index.
