The Kansas Highway Patrol is towing vehicles abandoned on I-70 beginning today, Feb. 25, according to an announcement from the highway patrol.
The towing began at 8:30 a.m. and will be located at:
- I-70 from 18th Street to the state line;
- on I-435;
- on I-635 from I-35 to the state line;
- and on I-35 from the Gardner Road to the state line.
The process will be in effect until all roadways are clear and traffic is flowing normally, a spokesman said.
The towing will facilitate snow removal and keep the roadway open for emergency vehicles. The normal 48-hour grace period will not be in effect during this time, according to the announcement.
