The Kansas City, Kan., Board of Education will meet at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 27 at the Central Office, 2010 N. 59th, Kansas City, Kan.
The board will consider naming the Hazel Grove East building, an older building, Waverly Circle Early Childhood Center.
A new Hazel Grove building opened in August and houses all the students at the grade school. The Hazel Grove East building, the smaller of the two buildings at the site, opened with early childhood education classrooms.
According to district information, officials felt the repurposed building needed to have its own identity because it now serves preschool students.
A survey of parents found that the name Waverly Circle received the most votes.
Other items on the agenda Aug. 27 include a service contract with pre-KC, and bids for web content filters.
