Taren L. Reynolds will become Kansas City, Kan.’ 32nd postmaster at an installation ceremony scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday, July 19, at 3 p.m. at the Postal Service’s Network Distribution Center, 4900 Speaker Road, in Kansas City, Kan.
A 17-year Postal Service veteran, Reynolds began his career as a part-time letter carrier at the Independence, Mo., Post Office. He brings experience in customer service and delivery operations, having served in leadership capacities in the Kansas City area, including manager, customer services, and manager, Post Office operations. He has been the acting postmaster since December 2012.
Reynolds and his staff of 164 employees serve nearly 150,000 customers in the Kansas City, Kan., area from the Main Post Office and five postal stations.
A graduate of the Trans World Travel Academy in Missouri, Reynolds also completed the Postal Service’s Leadership Program. Prior to the start of his Postal Service career, Reynolds served in the U.S. Navy as an aviation electrician.
