An injury-accident was reported Sunday night on I-70 at the I-670 split in Kansas City, Kan.
Five persons had possible injuries in the accident, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report. Also, a horse in a trailer had to be euthanized.
The trooper’s report stated that all vehicles were eastbound on I-70 at 11:43 p.m. Sunday when a Ford F250 truck pulling a horse trailer was stopped in the lane of traffic.
A 2007 Chevy Malibu then struck the back of the horse trailer, and a 1988 Ford Escort then hit the rear of the Malibu.
The driver of the truck, a 64-year-old Kansas City, Mo., man, was taken to the hospital with a possible injury.
The Malibu’s driver, a 29-year-old man from Missouri, was injured and taken to a hospital.
The Escort’s driver, a 19-year-old man from Lawrence, Kan., had a possible injury. Also reported as having possible injuries were an 18-year-old Lawrence, Kan., male passenger in the Escort; and a 20-year-old Lawrence, Kan., female passenger in the Escort, according to the trooper’s report.
