An informational meeting on the new Health Insurance Marketplace will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, at Kansas City, Kan., City Hall, 701 N. 7th St.
Representatives of the Kansas Insurance Department will present information about the Affordable Care Act, the new federal health insurance.
The meeting will be in the lobby of City Hall. Mayor Mark Holland will be the host for the meeting with the state insurance representatives.
It will be the last stop in a series of statewide public information meetings about the new health care act.
The location of this meeting was changed from a previously announced location in Kansas City, Kan.
The public may attend and receive factual information about the new federal health care program.
The Affordable Care law addresses the cost and quality of care and gaps in insurance coverage. Open enrollment started on Oct. 1, and does not apply to those already signed up with Medicare.
The health insurance exchange is available at www.healthcare.gov. Individuals and small businesses can use this online marketplace to apply for health coverage, compare options, and enroll in a plan in one application.
