A home fire at 1029 Shearer is under investigation, according to the Kansas City, Kan., Fire Department.
The fire was at 10:34 p.m. Aug. 1 and caused $30,000 damage to property and contents to the $35,000 home.
The Red Cross was called to assist two adults and three children, who were not home at the time of the fire.
When crew arrived, they found flames and smoke coming from the rear of the single-story wood frame home, a Fire Department spokesman said.
The fire had extended into the attic. Crews made an aggressive interior attack and knocked down the fire within 10 minutes, the spokesman said.
There were no injuries.
