Candidates gathered to hear the rules before the speaking portion of the program began at the Wyandotte County Third Saturday Democratic Breakfast March 16 at Dave and Buster's.
About 65 people turned out to hear candidates speak at the Wyandotte County Third Saturday Democratic Breakfast at Dave and Buster’s at The Legends Outlets.
Candidates for several offices addressed the audience, describing their qualifications and reasons for running. There was no question-and-answer session.
Commissioner Mark Holland, a candidate for mayor, attended the event, but his opponent, Commissioner Ann Murguia, did not attend. Both mayoral candidates attended the St. Patrick’s Day march down 5th Street a little later Saturday morning.
Only Democratic candidates were invited to speak at the meeting. The meeting was open to Democrats and unaffiliated voters.
