At the Board of Public Utilities work session Jan. 2, general manager Don Gray said they're trying new methods of customer service.
Customers who call in can make payment arrangements on their bill instead of coming into the main office. This would be ideal for the customers because they don't have to get out in the bad weather, especially now.
Another item that was also mentioned was the GM update and what is going on with General Motors regarding the new construction at the Fairfax plant.
At the regular session of the board, the BPU approved the financial report plus the minutes from Dec. 4, 2013. Also, a conceal and carry rule from the state of Kansas was discussed. Persons will not be able to come in to the Board of Public Utilities office with a concealed weapon.
