The Kansas Highway Patrol reported two accidents on Sunday, Jan. 5, in Wyandotte County.
A 1999 Mazda was southbound on K-7 just south of Nettleton in Bonner Springs, at 4:58 p.m. Jan. 5 when the driver lost control and struck a rock, according to a trooper’s crash log.
The driver, a 50-year-old woman from Lawrence, Kan., was injured and taken to a hospital.
In another accident, a 1999 Plymouth Neon was on northbound I-35 near 7th Street in Kansas City, Kan., at 2:15 p.m. Jan. 5 when it lost control on the snow-packed roadway, according to a trooper’s crash log.
The Neon crossed all lanes of traffic, struck the center concrete barrier wall, bounced off the wall and back into the lanes of traffic, the report stated. The Neon then struck a 2009 Chevy Traverse. The Traverse left the roadway and struck a tree, the report said.
The driver of the Neon, a 32-year-old man from Lenexa, Kan., was not injured.
The driver of the Traverse, a 45-year-old man from Shawnee, Kan., was injured and taken to a hospital.
