Wyandotte County is under a tornado watch until 4 a.m. Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
There is a chance for thunderstorms overnight across eastern Kansas and northern Missouri. A few of the storms could produce large hail.
On Sunday afternoon and evening, there is a chance of severe thunderstorms. Supercells capable of producing very large hail, possibly of more than 2 inches, are possible, according to the weather service.
Damaging winds and a few tornadoes also are possible during late Sunday afternoon and evening.
These thunderstorms may merge into a complex of storms across western Missouri with the hazards transitioning to mainly a damaging wind and large hail threat Sunday evening.
Localized heavy rain will be possible from Sunday through Monday, which may lead to local flooding problems, the weather service said.
