Kansas City, Kan., water rescue crews helped rescue a middle-aged man who jumped from the I-635 bridge over the Missouri River this morning.
The man who jumped around 10:30 a.m. was found in the river close to 7th Street, and CPR was begun on him immediately on the boat, according to Duke. The man was taken to a Kansas City, Mo., hospital. The Kansas City, Kan., Fire Department does not know if the man survived, and his condition is not known at this time, according to the spokesman.
According to Fire Department spokesman Craig Duke, Kansas City, Kan., brought three rescue boats to help in the effort. Kansas City, Mo., also provided three boats.
Boats were deployed to Kaw Point, and the victim was found about 2 miles from the place he jumped, according to the Fire Department.
